anyone remember when Febreze looked like this? Looks seriously 80s. I couldn’t find a date on it, but the product can’t be older than from 1993. Funny how the graphics look dated, yet sorta hipster trendy, but the form looks like it could be on the shelves now… this is not a compliment to other products, businesses need to start investing in 3D form as a serious part of the product & brand, not just 2D.
Developing 3D forms requires time & refinement. It’s not just moving pixels around on the screen, there is a physical dimension felt in a space. Light bounces and reflects, ever augmenting theĀ perceivedĀ form.
People say: ‘only designers care about design’ or ‘don’t design for designers, design for the common man’.
Maybe it’s time to stop thinking of us as elitist; the masses deserve good design.
